Step 1: Choosing the Appropriate Club Length

Before you use the fitting charts below it is very important that you know the shaft is the most important part of the golf club. If you are not sure what shaft, kick point, flex, or gram weight please visit our FAQ page before starting your fitting process or give us a call for help. You will also need to know your height and your wrist-to-floor measurement with your golf shoes on. To determine your wrist-to-floor measurement stand on a hard surface with your feet shoulder width apart with your arms and shoulders hanging relaxed at your sides. Then have your wife, husband, boyfriend, brother, sister, friend who ever you can get measure from the point where your hand meets your wrist to the floor(as shown in the diagram). With this measurement and your height, we will be able to determine the correct club length for you.

Golf Club Fitting Charts: Use the Chart below to determine how much longer or shorter (than standard) your new custom fit club lengths should be by finding where your height and wrist-to-floor measurements intersect:

Here are the recommended driver lofts that you should use with your swing speed. One thing that is very important to remember is, the lower you go with the loft the more difficult the club is to control. This is also the same for the length, the longer you make the shaft the more difficult to control it and the shorter you make it the better control you have and your distance will also decrease. Also remember the kick point of the shaft also controls the trajectory and spin rate of the ball. The less spin the better your distance will be.

Step 2: Shaft flex, a measurement of how much a shaft will bend under a certain load, is directly related to trajectory, distance and feel. The proper shaft flex for your swing speed helps produce the optimal trajectory for your shots. Use the charts below to determine the proper flex. The charts below are for consistant carry yardages only (don't include roll). Also a little bit stiffer shaft gives you better control but less distance and a more flexible shaft gives you more distance with less control. Tempo is very important always remember that.

Below are the flexes that should be used carry distances only. Please do not include the roll.

Step 3: Generally taller players require longer clubs and shorter players require shorter clubs. In metal woods your skill level will dictate the need for additional length. A shorter driver will improve control but have less distance. Putter length is based on a golfer's posture and hand position at address.Use the chart below to determine the proper shaft length. The proper shaft length will allow you to feel comfortable and will help you strike the ball more affectively and consistant. Having the wrong shaft length can either have your body to upright or bent over to much.

Step 4: Grip size plays a significant role in the shape of every golfer's shot. Too large a grip can limit the golfer's ability to properly release the wrists through the impact area (resulting in a block and/or fade), while too small a grip can cause holding the club to tight and early release (resulting in a pull and/or draw). Use the chart below to determine the proper grip size for the clubs.

Grip Sizing Your Golf Clubs

To accurately determine what grip size fits your hands, measure from your wrist (base of hand) to the end of your longest finger. If the result is less than 6.5 inches you should use a small grip. Use a .560″ if the distance is 6.5 to 7.0 inches, .560″ if 7.0 to 7.5 inches, and .580″ if 7.5 to 8.0 inches. For anything over 8.0 inches, select a jumbo grip.
